National League

For the first time in his career, the defenseman will be under contract in the National League.

EHC Olten

Coming summer, Joël Scheidegger will move from EHC Olten to HC Fribourg-Gottéron. It will not be his first time in the National League, as he suited up on a B-license for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers three times last season, but it will be the 26-year-old's first National League contract.

Currently in his most productive Swiss League season so far, the defenseman has already equaled his regular-season points total of last year (27) in just 25 games compared to 42.

"Joel Scheidegger has established himself as a dominant defender in the Swiss League this season and we believe he has all the necessary qualities to be able to play at the highest level and help us continue to be successful. We look forward to welcoming him at Fribourg-Gottéron as of next season", team manager Christian Dubé comments.
