14 contracts are coming to an end after this season. And apparently, SC Bern wants to give the roster a new shape, the Berner Zeitung reports.

Some of these expiring contracts will not be renewed. However, only one departure is already certain: Gregory Sciaroni will have to leave the SC Bern, team manager Andrew Ebbett tells the newspaper. "He wanted an early answer [as to his contract extension] because of family reasons."

Furthermore, the contracts of forwards Jan Neuenschwander and Alain Berger will end after this current season. The door is not closed yet, Ebbett says. But apparently more negotiations are needed. The contracts of imports Dustin Jeffrey and Christian Thomas are not expected to be renewed. A different situatation presents itself with Jeremi Gerber, as the SCB wants him to stay and will try to sign him.

Besides this, it is already clear that youngster Joshua Fahrni will stay with the Bears, as he has signed a new contract valid untill 2024. Goalies Philip Wüthrich and Daniel Manzato are expected to stay - their new contracts should be announced soon.

As for the defense, there is only one contract expiring, the one of Thomas Thiry. It is not yet certain if the French will stay as the SCB might look for a Swiss player.

With Eric Blum, Thomas Rüfenacht (both injured) and Beat Gerber there are also some special cases. As for Blum and Rüfenacht, their future is completely open at the moment. And Gerber might put an end to his career after this season.
