Last week, Blick reported that the 26-year-old restricted free agent is expected to sign a three-year deal with SC Bern. As team manager Andrew Ebbett tells Klaus Zaugg (Watson), they indeed want to sign him, but Kahun still wants to play in the NHL.

"I offered him to practice with our team to get to know the club better," Ebbett states, adding that Kahun is not in a tryout with them. "He is practicing with us until the end of the week, then he will have to decide whether he will stay or not. If he declines, we will sign another import player. We have several options."

Kahun spent the past three seasons playing in the NHL. He last suited up for the Edmonton Oilers, recording nine goals and six assists in 48 regular-season games. Kahun did not receive a qualifying offer from the Oilers.
