Next week, the 30-year-old Swede and EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy will sit together once again and discuss their future.

Carl Klingberg is planning to stay in Zug.

As the Luzerner Zeitung writes, a contract for Klingberg in Zug is ready and only the signature is missing. The Swede confirms to the newspaper that only "little things" need to be settled for him to extend his stint with EV Zug, for which he has been playing for the past five seasons. "I know that the door at EV Zug is wide open," he says.

In addition to Jan Kovář (forward, (CZE)), Anton Lander (forward, (SWE)), Christian Djoos (defender, (SWE)), and Niklas Hansson (defender, (SWE)), Klingberg would be Zug's fifth import-player. If Grégory Hofmann will leave in direction of the NHL, all five could be lined up.

Klingberg, who had to leave the World Championship in Riga due to a lower-body injury, flew back to Sweden on Wednesday. According to the Luzerner Zeitung, he expects to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
