As HCD's team manager Marc Gianola confirms, they want to get rid of their goaltender Robert Mayer and are interested in Gilles Senn.

After Marc Gianola said that they were willing to listen to offers for Robert Mayer a bit more than two weeks ago, he seems to be more determined now. "Yes, we would like to terminate the contract with Robert Mayer," he tells Klaus Zaugg (Watson). "Our goal is a buy-out."

As Mayer is in possession of a contract which is valid for three more seasons, a buy-out, however, is not going to come cheap. According to Zaugg, Mayer has an annual salary of CHF 360'000.

Gianola also says that there had been interest in Robert Mayer from other teams, "but then Gilles Senn came on the market". The 25-year-old, whose contract with the New Jersey Devils has expired, apparently is of interest to HC Lugano, Zaugg writes. But also to HCD: "We are interested in signing Gilles Senn," Marc Gianola confirms. "He is, after all, one of us."
