The Berner Zeitung has analyzed the open position of SC Bern's team manager ending up with two names as main candidates for the job.

From player to team manager? Thomas Rüfenacht is a candidate for the job.

Florence Schelling's replacement should be a competent person ready to go all-in reveals Chief Sport Officer Raeto Raffainer to the newspaper: "We are looking for someone who knows the Swiss market inside out. Someone who is prepared to go 'all in' for this job, also in terms of time. And above all: who can evaluate and assess the potential of players."

Rumor is that former SC Bern's players, Martin Plüss and Marc Reichert, were in the mix for the job. However, both followed different professional pathways. Two names remain therefore on the table: Thomas Rüfenacht and Andrew Ebbett. Rüfenacht has a contract as a player with the Bears. But the continuation of his career is in danger due to knee problems. As for Ebbett, a former player of SCB, he is about to retire after one season with EHC München in Germany.

Raffainer did not comment on the rumors, however, revealed that the decision could be made before the start of the World Championships at the end of next week.
