Due to their reduced budget, possible additions of Swiss players are not part of the plan. Instead, they want to rely on their juniors.

Might stay in Bern, might have to leave: Jesper Olofsson

SC Bern is almost done with their roster-building for next season. They intend to sign two more import players, but no Swiss additions are planned. "I have to reduce the budget by a million francs, and the players with expiring contracts are all no big earners", team manager Florence Schelling tells the Berner Zeitung.

One of the imports will be a forward that can play as both center and wing. Whether the other one will be a forward or a defenseman has not yet been decided. Jesper Olofsson will be an option for them if they decide to go with another forward. Part of the Bears since Christmas, the 28-year-old Swede is signed until the end of this season. He has recorded six goals and eleven assists in 26 games so far.

With seven departures, most of them uncompensated, Bern plans to go into next season with a 20-man roster, not including goalies. In cases of injury, they will rely on their own junior department for reinforcements.

A possible return of Gaëtan Haas, under contract with the Edmonton Oilers until the end of the season, seems rather unlikely, as other teams could offer him more lucrative deals and better short-term perspectives.
