Originally willing to cooperatively build a double sports hall, the floorball club might go solo as the Lakers are blocked by a complaint.

The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers see their partner advance without them

What has been apparent is now official, the Zürichsee-Zeitung reports: the Jona-Uznach Flames want to build the planned floorball hall in Jona's Grünfeld without the ice hockey training hall of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers as they feel they cannot wait any longer.

The Flames has officially applied to the city council for this, as club president Mike Zimmermann confirms: "The project has been going on with us for about five years. We want and need to move forward now. We fear that the story with the appeal could last for years." The city council has not yet decided on it but apparently, there is understanding from their side.

As the group that filed a complaint against the Lakers' training hall due to procedural deficiencies and illegalities has announced that they want to exhaust all possibilities, the Lakers can therefore only wait and see how the situation develops with no real plan B: "As of now, we assume that despite the blockade, we will probably get to our goal (i.e. a training hall for their youngster) in Grünfeld faster than starting a whole new planning process somewhere else" states Lakers' media director René Schmid.
