EV Zug would like the Bossard Arena to have a capacity of 9,000 spectators. The upcoming two years will show if that is possible.

The increase of the capacity of EVZ's arena is a long-term project.

"Within two years, it should be clarified what is sensible and feasible," André Wicki, head of the city's Department of Finance, says to the Luzerner Zeitung. As the city of Zug is the owner of the Bossard Arena, EV Zug needs their consent and support for their plans.

Also in this case, however, the coronavirus pandemic plays a role: "The main challenge is that the league has to be back on a strong footing before we can talk about expansions in concrete terms," Wicki says.

Nevertheless, André Wicki has a positive attitude towards increasing the Bossard Arena's capacity: "The population of the city and the canton [of Zug] would certainly benefit if there were enough seats available."
