At their press conference today, Lausanne HC confirmed the signing of Brian Gibbons, Jérôme Reynard (Sport-Center) reports. The US-American will join for one year. Lausanne will be his first stop outside of North America, as he has spent his career between NHL and AHL so far. Last season, the 32-year-old forward was part of the Carolina Hurricanes' organization.

According to the same source Gibbons, as well as Cory Conacher, will arrive in Switzerland on Friday. As Conacher will fly in from the States, he is mandated to go into quarantine. Gibbons, on the other hand, will join LHC's practice on Monday.

Two more NHL-players are said to join the Lions, Grégory Beaud (Sport-Center) writes. They will be announced once their season is over. Also, according to Jérôme Reynard, the Swiss player will be Ken Jäger who is currently practicing with Lausanne HC.

One of the NHL players is presumably Mark Barberio, Reynard and Beaud state. As Le Matin reported back in April, there was mutual interest and an agreement had apparently already been reached back then. The 30-year-old defenseman is still under contract with the Colorado Avalanche for the remainder of the season.
