Until the Washington Capitals' training camp opens in mid-November, the former player of EHC Biel is going to play in Europe.

Will it be Switzerland or Sweden for Damien Riat?

His new team, the Washington Capitals, will not stop Damien Riat from starting the season in Europe: "It was the Caps who came up with the idea," the 23-year-old forward explains to the Journal du Jura. "It's as much in their interest as it is in mine."

Moreover, Riat confirms to the same source that he and his agent are in contact with teams from Switzerland, but also from Sweden. Asked about Biel, he says: "Let's just say I had a wonderful experience with EHC Biel."

Damien Riat was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In March, the Capitals signed him to a two-year entry level contract.
