Hans-Peter Strebel, president of EV Zug, talks about his team's situation in an interview with Zentralplus.

"We are working at various levels to reduce our expenses. But the basic costs [...] remain and the income is missing," Strebel states. He adds that the city of Zug might also accommodate them in regard to their rental agreement. He also hopes that if push comes to shove, the city would recognize the importance of the team and help them financially.

However, if everything else fails, he would also help out the first team with a loan, but "they would have to pay it back. I am not prepared to pump money into the first team. That doesn't help to ensure the survival of EV Zug in the long run."

An important part of EVZ's income is, of course, also their fans. While he thinks a vaccine against the coronavirus will have to be available before the arenas will be filled to capacity again, he also hopes that it will be possible to "allow a certain number of spectators into the stadium, taking into account hygiene measures and social distancing."
