Grassi initially left his youth-team HC Ambrì-Piotta in 2016, when he went to play for EHC Kloten. Two years later, he joined SC Bern. For the next two seasons, he will again call the Valascia his home.
During his tenure in Kloten and Bern, he won the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup in 2017 as well as the national championship title in 2019.

We are convinced that the team will be able to profit from his experience of the last few seasons, his unprecedented determination and especially his strong leadership", team manager Paolo Duca notes.
