"The time had come for a complete change in the coaching staff and the sports management," Sacha Weibel explains in an interview published in 24 heures. "We need a fresh start. A new philosophy, on the ice but also in the club. (...) It's a whole system that has been in place for ten years now that needs to change."

Weibel also has a clear reason why he decided to mix things up just two games before the playoffs and not during the off-season: "I didn't want to wait because I'm not ready to give up this season."

Even with the playoffs just around the corner, Lausanne HC wants to start the search for the right people for the future right away. "Ville [Peltonen] is a great man, but we need more know-how. Jan [Alston] and I had a great time, but we need more ideas from people like Craig MacTavish, for example."
