After 14 minutes of play, Lausanne HC had a three-goal lead over the Philadelphia: Yannick Herren, Cory Emmerton, and Joël Genazzi all put one past Carter Hart.

The 21-year-old goaltender was also not able to stop Joël Vermin in the second period. That was the end of the night for him, he was replaced by Brian Elliott. Captain Claude Giroux put the Flyers on the board in the 26th minute, just as a penalty against Lausanne HC had expired.

White a little over 14 minutes to go in the last period, Connor Bunnaman collected a rebound and scored on Luca Boltshauser. The Flyers came close to coming within one goal a couple of times but finally recorded their third goal with 2:08 minutes to go. However, Lausanne managed to hold on to their lead and won with 4-3 over the Flyers.

Last year, the NHL Global Series also made a stop in Switzerland, albeit in the capital city. SC Bern lost the game against the New Jersey Devils in overtime with 2-3.
