According to the Journal du Jura, EHC Biel confirmed the protest at the end of the game. However, today the Seelanders decided not to pursue the case further out of "fairplay". What had happened?

The referee signaled a delayed penalty against HCAP's Giacomo Dal Pian. The Biancoblù obtained possession of the puck but the referee did not blow the whistle. Daniel Manzato then left his net, assuming the penalty was thus meant for EHC Biel.

However, once the Seelanders got the puck back the referee did still not stop the game, so Samuel Kreis put the puck into the empty net. This would have tied up the game, but the referees waived the goal off.
