According to the Czech news portal iSport.cz, Plekanec received offers from SC Bern, HC Lugano and HC Davos, as well as from several Kontinental Hockey League teams.

“Interest from abroad always pleases me. But I have to reject those offers. I want to stay in Czechia for my family. I'm not going anywhere else. I will definitely end my career here,” he told the same source.

The 36-year-old has an overall experience of more than 1000 games with the Montreal Canadiens, for which he managed to put up 251 goals and 410 assists. In November last year, Plekanec returned to his native country to play with his youth team in Kladno.
