In order to alleviate the injury-related absence of Benjamin Conz, HC Ambrì-Piotta has inked the Czech goalie Dominik Hrachovina, 24, and the Swedish goalie Viktor Östlund, 24, to contracts, which are valid until the national team break in November. Both contracts, however, include an option to extend their stint in the Leventina.
Dominik Hrachovina arrives from the KHL's Barys Astana, for which he suited up in 22 games in the past regular season. Viktor Östlund, on the other hand, most recently was under contract with the SCL Tigers, but was also loaned to SC Langenthal in the final phase of the season.
In addition, HC Ambrì-Piotta also announces that they have extended the contract with their assistant coach René Matte for another season, his third for the Biancoblù. Most recently, Matte has also worked as an assistant coach for the French national team.
