As the club announces on Facebook, the forward will not be on their roster anymore for the upcoming season.

Steve Mason will not return to the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers after summer, as the forward's contract is not extended by the club.

The Dutch-Canadian in possession of a Swiss licence was part of the Lakers for the past four years, winning the Swiss League title and the promotion round with them in 2018. He joined them from the Dutch team Tilburg Trappers, where he played for two seasons. What the future holds for the 31-year-old is not yet known.

Mason suited up 240 times in the top two leagues in Switzerland, recording 43 goals and 72 assists. He has also been part of the Dutch national team for multiple World Championships in Division 1B and played for the Miami University for four years.
