Djugården's season was put an end to yesterday, which makes the Swede eligible to join the Dragons on a one-year contract.

Daniel Brodin: HCFG's fourth import-player

In mid-April, journalist Marc-André Berset (RTS) reported that various Swedish sources indicate that the 29-year-old forward is the missing piece in HC Fribourg-Gottéron's import-quartet. With the SHL-season being decided yesterday evening thanks to a win by Frölunda HC over Djugården, the Dragons were able to announce the arrival of Brodin today. He signed with them for one year.

The Swede is the Dragons' fourth import-player for next season besides defenseman Ryan Gunderson ((USA), contract until 2020) as well as the forwards Viktor Stålberg ((SWE), 2021) and David Desharnais ((CAN), 2021).

Throughout his career, Brodin has mainly played in Sweden, apart from one season in the Finnish Liiga with Ässät. He has mostly suited up for Djugården, but also spent two years with Brynäs. In a total of 478 games in the SHL, the forward recorded 74 goals and 78 assists.
