Soon after the end of the season, EV Zug is working towards adjusting its group of import-players. Dennis Everberg, Garrett Roe and Brian Flynn will leave the club, while Carl Klingberg and Pontus Widerström (EVZ Academy) are negotiating a new contract to remain in Zug. The two Swedes are joined by their fellow countryman Erik Thorell.

Team manager Reto Kläy is pleased about the commitment of the forward: "With his character, his speed, his intensive playing and his finishing qualities, he exactly meets our requirements".

This season, the 27-year-old scored 26 goals and put up 29 assists in 60 games with the Finnish club HIFK in the Liiga. He won the Swedish championship in 2011 with Färjestad BK and a gold medal at the World Juniors the following year.
