The ZSC Lions are planning a new ice hockey and sports arena for 12,000 fans in Altstetten. The appeal period against the building decision expired on December 1 and no appeals were received. This means that nothing more stands in the way of construction approval in January 2019.
As a precautionary measure, however, the client itself, ZSC Lions Immobilien AG, submitted an appeal to clarify certain conditions in the construction decision, namely implementations of the train station in Altstetten. In concrete terms, the precautionary appeal must now clarify who is responsible for implementing the measures and who has to bear the costs.
Parallel to the appeal, and in coordination with the city of Zurich, the ZSC Lions have also submitted a reconsideration request regarding the lightning of the facades and the spaces for the disabled people. However, these points do not have to be clarified until commissioning in 2022 and are not relevant for the construction phase.
