Jacob Micflikier is well-known in Switzerland. He spent the 2012-2013 season with EHC Biel, parts of the 2013-2014 season with HC Lugano and was with Biel again from 2016 to 2018. After his contract expired last summer, he did not find a new team. Now, HC Fribourg-Gottéron decided to sign the 34-year-old until the end of the year, with the option to extend the engagement until the end of the season.

During his time with Biel and Lugano, the Canadian recorded 70 goals and 78 assists in 183 games. He also suited up 276 times for several AHL-teams and spent two seasons in the SHL. Micflikier missed some playoff-games with Biel last spring due to a lung contusion.
