With the new position of the Director of National Teams the SIHF wants to strengthen the foundation for a successful development of all Swiss national teams. With the hiring of Raeto Raffainer, Ueli Schwarz, who had been responsible for the national teams up to this point, is going to be fully focusing on the National League and the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup.

Raeto Raffainer, who most recently played for the GCK Lions but has sustained an injury in mid-September, has dissolved his contract with GCK and will start his new job on February 1. Over the course of his active career he played in the NLA for HC Davos, the ZSC Lions, SC Bern, the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, and HC Ambrì-Piotta. (tme)
