According to the SIHF, Albelin will be responsible for coaching the defense of the men's national team. In addition, as previously announced, the Swede will also work with the U20 national team and their head coach Christian Wohlwend.

Albelin has plenty of experience in the field of coaching. He worked as assistant coach for the New Jersey Devils and their AHL affiliate team, the Albany Devils, from 2007 to 2015. In addition, he was part of the Swedish national team's coaching staff at the 2014 Olympic Games.

Moreover, Reto von Arx, one of Patrick Fischer's assistant coaches last season, will still continue to work for the Federation. However, he will only be part of the coaching staff of the U17 national team. Felix Hollenstein, on the other hand, who also served as assistant coach, will indeed not receive a new contract. (bsc)
