With the absence of Fabian Ganz and Silvan Wyss (whose injuries do not seem too serious) following the game in Winterthur, EHC Olten could deploy only five defenders against the Bellinzona Rockets. A forward, Rihards Melnalksnis, had thus to be moved back to the blue line.
Additionally, according to the Oltner Tagblatt, during the second period of the game, defenseman David Moser was also ruled out after a violent collision. EHC Olten's team manager Marc Grieder says that they are looking for a short-term substitute to react to the emergency.
