IIHF Women's World Championship

For the first time in women's hockey, a World Championship will be held in an Olympic year: Denmark will host it from August 25 to September 4.

Switzerland will be part of group A in Herning with the other four top-seeded nations. They will first play against Japan on August 26. Canada will be then the next obstacle for the Swiss girls on the following day. The last two games of the preliminary round will be against the USA on August 29 and Finland on the day after.

The five teams of Group A and the top-three teams of Group B will qualify for the quarter-finals in Herning and Frederikshavn on 1 September. They will then be followed by the semi-finals and medal games in Herning during the weekend of 3-4 September. The ticket sale has opened today.
