All of them have decided to retire from professional hockey. Of the four players, only 26-year-old Isabel Waidacher has been able to suit up for the Lions Frauen last season. Monika and Nina Waidacher as well as Laura Benz have all been out with injuries.

Whereas Laura Benz, 28, has been sidelined for almost two full seasons, 30-year-old Monika Waidacher and her 28-year-old sister Nina Waidacher missed the whole past season.

Over the course of their careers, all four players won several Swiss championship titles and represented Switzerland at various World Championships. Nina Waidacher and Laura Benz were also part of the Swiss team which won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi, Russia.
