Whereas National League champion EV Zug will face Rögle BK in Sweden, the ZSC Lions will try to win against IFK Helsinki in Switzerland. Lausanne HC will play their first game in Finland against Lukko Rauma.
On the second day of the tournament (August 29), HC Lugano will play their first game and have been matched up with Skellefteå AIK.
