If junior players get more than 100 minutes of ice time at the SHL level, they get offered a so-called rookie contract. Lian Bichsel recently surpassed that threshold and was thus offered such a deal.

Blick already reported earlier this week that Bichsel had agreed to terms with the SHL team. "It is very exciting for me as a young player to sign my first pro contract in Sweden," Bichsel states. "I'll use the time in Sweden to continue to develop as much as I can and then we'll see how things go with the NHL draft and such, but I'm very much looking forward to my journey with Leksands IF."
