Having been unable to get a deal done for the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (South Korea), the last participation of NHL players was in 2014 in Sochi (Russia), where Canada won gold.

It seems now, as reported by Pierre LeBrun (TSN), that the new proposed extension of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between NHL and NHLPA would let the players participate in the next two editions: Beijing 2022 and Milano Cortina 2026.
