Mathias Seger was elected MPP of the 2017-18 season.
The MPP will be voted on in three rounds. In the first round, for which the polls are now open until July 13, the fans have a choice between 36 players, three of every National League team. This first pre-selection has been made by the editorial desks of 20 Minuten, 20 Minutes and 20 Minuti.

The award for the Most Popular Player is the only Swiss Ice Hockey Award that is determined by the Swiss hockey fans. Last season, defenseman Mathias Seger received the award after his final season with the ZSC Lions. This year, the Swiss Ice Hockey Awards take place on Saturday, August 2.
