That is what James Mirtle, senior managing editor of The Athletic reports tonight. After a very convincing training camp, the 25-year-old Swiss forward survived the team's final cut and will thus start the new season in the NHL.
Malgin was signed to a one-year, one-way contract worth $750,000 by the Toronto Maple Leafs in mid-July this year after suiting up for the ZSC Lions in the 2021-22 season, recording 30 goals and 40 assists in a total of 65 games.
The Leafs have placed Simmonds, Clifford, Mete and Gaudette on waivers.
