Most recently, Frédéric Rothen was an assistant coach for HC Ajoie, most recently under Julien Vauclair, who took over ad interim after firing head coach Gary Sheehan. Before that, Rothen also worked as head coach of HC Ajoie's U20-Team.
In Winterthur, Rothen will be a full-time assistant coach to Teppo Kivelä next season. As a player, the former forward has played 720 games in Switzerland's top league - for HC Ajoie, EHC Kloten, HC Davos, and EV Zug.
