After one season in the SHL, Victor Backman returns on a one-year deal. Also Marc Aeschlimann wil stay with the Lions for one year.

Marc Aeschlimann joins the Lions organization.

Marc Aeschlimann, who did not receive a new contract from HC Davos, has been reported to be in contact with HC Ajoie and EHC Biel. But now, the 25-year-old forward has decided to join the GCK Lions, where he might also get a chance with the ZSC Lions.

"We hope that Marc will bring us an even higher level of intensity and an increase in quality both in training sessions and in games," GCK's team manager Patrick Hager says. "This in turn could result in assignments with the ZSC Lions in the National League."

Moreover, the GCK Lions announce the return of Swedish forward Victor Backman, 30, who will be their second import-player besides Canadian Ryan Hayes. He already suited up for the Lions from 2018 to 2020. Last season, Backman played for the Malmö Redhawks in the SHL and recorded four points (two goals) in 40 games.
