According to Keystone-SDA, the City of Zug will own the arena, the Kunsteisbahn Zug AG will operate the arena as a tenant, and EV Zug will pay the CHF 36 million for themselves as a subtenant. It is planned that the entire expansion (the shell, installations, and building envelope) will be transferred to the city of Zug after completion.

The EVZ will pay the maintenance costs for the building shell. The interior construction (costs: ~ CHF14), will remain in possession of EVZ. They will thus also be responsible for the cost of maintenance. The City of Zug will, however, pay for the maintenance costs of the property and make the necessary adjustments to the surrounding area.

The new expansion will increase the capacity of the arena by 1,800 to 9,000. If all goes well and no one decides to make use of the optional referendum, the new part of the arena is supposed to be operable as of the start of the 2027-28 season.
