The contract of the 32-year-old defenseman with the Tigers is coming to an end in spring and might not get extended.

As reported by the Berner Zeitung, is possible that the future of Yannick Blaser will not be with the SCL Tigers, especially if the clubs will be able to deploy six imports. "If there is a promoted team, six foreigners will be allowed to play in the teams next season, which means two places less for Swiss players" explains Blaser.

Nonetheless, talks are underway between Blaser and the Tigers and despite the uncertain situation, the defender stays optimistic: "If I continue to perform at my best, I will become an option somewhere." A product of the Tigers' organization, Blaser returned to Langnau in 2016 from EV Zug.

Over the course of his career, Blaser had some injury troubles but in the last three championships, he was able to suit up for more than 35 games each season. Coming from two seasons in which Blaser recorded twelve points (career-high), this championship he collected five so far.
