The 23-year-old defenseman has an out clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the National League until the end of January.

"Talks with Swedish teams are currently underway," Dominik Egli confirms to Blick. While they are becoming more concrete, he has not yet made a final decision about his future.

Asked why he considers playing Sweden, Egli's answer echoes what he already said a year ago: to improve his defensive game and to maybe get a step closer to his NHL dream.

Dominik Egli has a valid contract with HC Davos until the end of the 2023-24 season. He has, however, the opportunity to opt out of his deal every season, but only if he does so before the end of January.
