The goaltender is currently playing for the SCL Tigers, albeit on loan from HC Davos. It is not clear where he will play next season, but a solution might soon be found.

"Davos is interested in a solution," Sven Helfenstein, the agent of Robert Mayer, tells the Berner Zeitung. "I have had good talks with Jan Alston." Several teams are looking for a goaltender for the upcoming season, but since Mayer is under contract with HC Davos until 2024 the team would have to come to an agreement with HCD.

There are rumblings that Genève-Servette HC has made an offer for Robert Mayer in regard to the upcoming season. Mayer already played for them for six seasons, so he would be familiar with the environment and the organization, even though the team went through quite a few changes since he left for Davos.

Be that as it may, it is clear that he will either finish out the season with the SCL Tigers or HC Davos, as his license status would not allow for anything else anyway.
