Marc Eichmann confirms to Klaus Zaugg (Watson) that his goaltender told him about his decision to leave: "We had to expect it," Eichmann says. "Now Robert Mayer is our top priority." Mayer is currently playing with the SCL Tigers on loan from HC Davos, where he is no longer welcome.
Where Ivars Punnenovs will play next season is not yet known. Still according to Zaugg, the Tigers believe that it is going to be either HC Lugano or Lausanne HC. The ZSC Lions, however, do not seem to be interested.
According to information obtained by La Regione, Punnenovs will move to Lausanne and form a goalie duo with Tobias Stephan. Luca Boltshauser is, apparently, looking for a new team, even though his contract with LHC is still valid until 2024.
