Sam Hallam's contract in Växjö is expiring at the end of the current season. Up to this point, it is not clear where he is going to continue his career. As Expressen reports, there is interest from Switzerland, namely from EHC Biel, Genève-Servette HC, and the ZSC Lions. All have reportedly been in contact with Hallam.
On Saturday, the Swede was named "Coach of the Year" at the 2021 European Hockey Awards of the E.H.C. Alliance.
Sam Hallam has been with the Växjö Lakers since 2012 when he started the season as their assistant coach, but then took over as head coach. Since then, he won the Swedish championship with Växjö three times, in 2015, 2018 and 2021.
