In an interview with the Freiburger Nachrichten, HC Fribourg-Gottéron's captain Julien Sprunger revealed that the players are unanimously prepared to waive parts of their salaries: "We have started to discuss - the matter will be settled very quickly, even before the start of the season." In Fribourg, all employees of the club will be asked to waive parts of their salaries.

In Zürich, CEO Peter Zahner is also in the process of having talks with the ZSC Lions players, as he tells the Tages-Anzeiger. "I have no indication that there are players who are not willing to share the burden of the financial loss. After all, the players helped us with a deferment in order to secure our liquidity in the summer."

Zahner also stated that they will soon pay out part of the money owed to the players from last season but would take into account the reduction in wages.
