As Blick-journalist Angelo Rocchinotti reported on Twitter, 37-year-old NHL-defenseman Mark Streit, who recently dropped out of the Stanley Cup race with the Philadelphia Flyers, won't be part of the Swiss national team in Minsk. He turned down coach Sean Simpson's invitation.

On the other hand, two more players from North-America will definitely join the team: goaltender Reto Berra (Colorado Avalanche, NHL) and forward Simon Moser (Milwaukee Admirals, AHL).

Right now, the Swiss roster still includes 15 forwards and ten defensemen. With the arrival of Simon Moser, at least two forwards and two defensemen will have to leave the team soon, as Sean Simpson plans to take a total of eight defensemen and 14 forwards to the World Championship.
