Two days ago, Stéphane Rochette suggested in the La Telé series "Les Puckalistes" that Gil Montandon will be HCFG's next assistant coach. However, the former Fribourg player has rejected those rumors: "Those are unfounded rumors, considering that there has been no contact."
Also HCFG's head coach Gerd Zenhäusern confirms to the newspaper that the race for the position as his assistant is still very much open. "I have already contacted one or two candidates in the past week, I have a clear idea what I am looking for. Gil could be one of them but for the moment there has been no concrete contact."
Furthermore, Zenhäusern also reacted to the report that the Dragons are about to sign an exclusive partnership agreement with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds: "Pure speculations. There have been discussions but nothing more." It seems as if HCFG is closer to an agreement with NLB team HC Red Ice than HCC, suggests the same source. (lcu)
