Currently involved in the playout final with the Lakers starting tonight, the goalkeeper tells La Liberté that he has not yet decided on where he wants to play the upcoming season: “First I want to finish this one and try to do it as quickly as possible before I look into my future. I will see what options open up. So far I have had two or three propositions but those did not interest me.”

The 36-year-old continues that different factors are influencing his decision but that he does wish to play some more years of professional hockey. “I need to find something that suits me if I am to continue”, Aebischer tells the newspaper, “if I don’t find what I am looking for that has no sense!”

One option could be Aebischer's youth club HC Fribourg-Gottéron. As Fribourg’s manager Raphael Berger confirms, HCFG is interested but has not yet had any formal discussions as they are waiting until Aebsicher’s season with the Lakers is over. The most likely role for the former Colorado Avalanche netminder would be the one of an advisor for the youngsters and as a back-up if there’s the need.
