NHL - After firing general manager Jay Feaster in the morning, the Calgary Flames announced this afternoon that they have assigned Sven Bärtschi to the Abbotsford Heat in the AHL.

Bärtschi, who has been considered as one of the Flames' top prospects since the club selected him as 13th overall in the 2011 entry draft, had to take a lot of criticism from the Flames' head of hockey operations and current interim GM Brian Burke at the beginning of the season.

In 26 games with the Flames this season, the 21yr-old left wing has scored a total of 2 goals and 9 assists.
