As the 37-year-old forward tells MySports, he has decided to take this step in order to focus more on his career off the ice. Except for one season in North America, he only played in Switzerland.

He suited up for the SCL Tigers, the ZSC Lions, the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, HC Lugano, HC Ambrì-Piotta, EHC Biel and HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the highest Swiss league throughout his career. In total, he appeared in 778 National League games, recording 221 goals and 321 assists. In mid-September of 2017, he then signed with HC Thurgau. In 27 games for them, he scored one goal and ten assists.
