National League

NLA - The dice are cast, for a second time. According to a report from the Nordwestschweiz, the SCL Tigers' leadership has come to the decision to not extend the expiring contract of their Swedish head coach Bengt-Ake Gustafsson.

The reasons which have led to this separation would not be financially motivated, but are supposed to be found in the now updated sporting goals of the Tigers. The National League A would claim a more active leadership style from a head coach than the NLB.

Bengt-Åke Gustafsson, 57, took over the Tigers' head coaching position from Tomas Tamfal in October, 2013. In the very same season he reached the NLB Playoff-finals against EHC Visp (3-4 series loss) and finally led his team back to Switzerland's highest League this year following a 4-0 series win against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the League Qualification.

As the same source reports, on the other hand, the SCL Tigers and Anton Gustafsson (Bengt-Åke Gustafsson's son) are close to signing a contract extension. (rlu)
