It has been rumored that Kyle Wellwood is close to Switzerland and many sources believed that he would sign with Genève-Servette HC. However, Chris McSorley had to scratch him from his short-list - and now he signed with EVZ.

According to Nicola Berger of the "Neue Luzerner Zeitung", EVZ signed Wellwood to a 1-month-contract. He is going have his first practice with Zug tomorrow and will be in their line-up on Friday against SC Bern.

The question that is raised by this transfer: Will Josh Holden be out for a longer time than expected? The Canadian suffers from an elbow-injury since the beginning of August.

Kyle Wellwood has played a total of 529 NHL-games for Toronto, Vancouver, San Jose and Winnipeg. In these 529 games he scored 96 goals and 159 assists.
