The native of Delémont made his National League B debut with his youth team HC Ajoie in season 2000/01. Between 2007 and 2009, Gigon also played for EHC Basel, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, HC Fribourg-Gottéron and the Young Sprinters before he finally moved to SC Bern in 2009, where he fulfilled the role as backup netminder alongside Marco Bührer.
During his career, Gigon has completed a total of 176 games in Switzerland's highest leagues and was able to celebrate the Swiss Championship with SC Bern in 2010 and 2012.
HC Ajoie's 23-year-old netminder Matthias Mischler will return to the metropolitan as of the upcoming season in order to replace him.
